Completely amazing!!!!

Another Online Test to Freak You Out
This is truly bizarre. Follow the instructions!NO PEEKING AHEAD!Free will or synaptic wiring? You be the judge. Do the following exercise and prepare yourself to freak out.Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can!Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them ... really. Now, arrow down (but not too fast, you might miss something).

Think of a number from 1 to 10.

Multiply that number by 9.

If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together.

Now subtract 5.

Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with (example: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c, etc.)

Think of a country that starts with that letter.

Remember the last letter in the name of that country.

Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter.

Remember the last letter in the name of that animal.

Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter.

Are you thinking of a Kangaroo in Denmark eating an Orange? If not, you're among the 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise. Freaky, huh?

A new addition to the Berglund Clan

Well all out there who keep up with this slow paced blog, I do have some awesome news. My wife and I are expecting a new addition to our little family. We found out right around thanksgiving time but thought we would hold off telling everyone until X-mas due to the fact that we are now scrounging every penny to buy a house. So MERRY CHRISTMAS. We do not have an exact expecting date but we are both college grads and attempted the math and figured it to be around the end of July or the first of August. Any and all baby supplies are welcome, however, advice will only be heard from those who know what they are talking about. I guess I won't be getting any advice. J/K

Updates and new blog postings are on my New Year's resolution list, so keep in touch and let us know how life is treatin you.

My Band Name and New Album

My Aunty Carla, who I have not seen in years postedthis cute little game on her page and I thought well I am looking to form another band. So I followed these instructions and the latter aprt of this post is the result.

1 - Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3. The last four words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album. 3- Go to flickr’s “explore the last seven days” http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/. Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Put it all together, that’s your debut album.

Band Name: Blanche Heriot

Album Name: Good Advice, Ignore Them Both

Album Cover:

I do not think my fellow musicians would go along with all this but I will show it to them Monday night at practice and get their reactions. It should be quite funny.
Thanks for the laugh Aunt Carla,

NFL Football is turning a new leaf

I am going to assume anyone reading this post has heard the deliciously terrific news about New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, so I will not bore you with the news that you have already seen, heard, or read. But, as I was watching the Green Bay, Minnesota game, the announcers took it upon themselves to wonder what the greater American society would do now that a second season-ending knee injury had befalled yet another American sporting legend. One announcer says tothe other, "I wonder what Tiger Woods has to say about this?" His partner replies, "Tiger Woods and Tom Brady out for the season in the same year, what will America watch now?" or something to that effect. I thought WTF is wrong the two future superstars on the big ass TV in front of me, meaning Adrian Peterson #28 Minnesota Vikings and Aaron Rodgers #12 Green Bay Packers. These two guys are starting for two of the Premier teams in their conference and in the League. Lets start "praising" a few new FOOTBALL GODS and let the guys like Brady, Burleson, Merrimen, and Farve let themselves heal in a healthy fashion rather than a stream of stressing questions from relentless reporters and sports analysist (what the hell kind of job is that anyway) that can only be answered when the prescribed rehabilitation is to end. I say, instead of padding the pockets of the already multi-millionaire super-athletes, spend your money either on a new superstar that is going to play the entire season. That way your not that guy wearing the injured superstars jersey when the team loses and everyone blames you. Or, you could spend your money at my new online store at www.shaklee.net/the_berglunds or www.cinchplan.com/the_berglunds and start living a healthier, stronger life for yourself and your family. Had to throw that in there, I am not sorry so deal with it, got to advertise somehow.

Anywho, think about the New Superstar Athlete thing and check out my sites.

Finally those damn pics I promised....

So here are a few pics of the DirtyBerg Express (lame name? suggest a better one!) The little girl on the back is my boss's kid and she would not leave until her mom let her go near the bike, so I did one better and put her on the back and drove her around the driveway.

There is quite a "Shortyism" behind the deal I got on all the new baggage. I first priced new bags and accessories at the same dealership I bought my bike from and they basically wanted to rape me without the use of a lubricant. Over $1100 for bag supports, turn siganal relocation kit, saddle-bags, tool bag and labor. I politely pulled my chin off the floor and walked out the door. Well on the way home I stopped at a couple custom shops to compare prices and was amazed at the overall difference. Two different shops gave me estimates of $600-$700 and I almost left the bike there for them to do the work, but I knew I cut another couple hundred dollars off if I just put forth a little effort. So I pulled into the local custom shop here in Claremore, it is called Booger John's Custom Cycles, and got to talking to the owners about a little bit of everything. When music became the topic at hand, Booger's wife (it is his real moniker, he even has it stitched on his work shirts) mentioned they missed getting tickets to David Alan Coe. Well if destiny didn't shine on me that day. I had just won two tickets from the College radio station for the Coe concert and would not be able to go. I mentioned I had the tickets and they went hog wild. Booger jumped out of his chair and started walking me around the store telling he would give 25% off for this or 30% percent off for that. I stopped him at the Willie and Max Leather display and said I wanted bags and the lot. He pulled two sets of bags to throw over my bike and settledd on the ones installed by saying he'd knock half off the bag price and would not charge labor in trade for the concert tickets. I told him to ring up the entire order and give me a total bill and I would consider it. A few minutes later he presented me an invoice for $385.45 and that included the tool bag, bag supports, and relocator kit. I wrote him a check for $400 in case there was something stupid that we missed and we set a date for the install. Sure enough we did miss something extremely stupid. The turn signal relocation kit does not come with any parts for the liscence plate braket and we were short one little piece of steel to attach the new light bar to the fender and bracket. We did waht we could without it and I ran into Tulsa the next morning for the missing part. We got enerything put together and as I was pushing my bike out the door Booger tossed me a company tee and hat for the tickets and his wife told me to pick out a new pair of riding goggles because she didn't like the ones I was using. I pulled the tee on over the shirt I was already wearing, strapped on the new goggles, and threw the new hat in the bags. We all gathered for a pic to which I was amazed was a polaroid and they walked me out to my bike to see me off. I have been back in quite a few times to shoot the shit with them and have made a couple new friends. So to end this I leave you with a word of wisdom from the DirtyBerg and it is to remember that customer service and true appreciation are the proper and right ways to run your business, without them return business is no longer a possibility. Plus, if you really want to help our economy, stay at home and shop. I do not mean to shop from your computer but to stay in your home town or where you live if at all possible to do your shopping. For starters, you will pay this difference in price with fuel consumption and the sales taxes you pay will go towards local improvments (hopefully) which in turn benefits business and property owners. Think about it. Sorry I went all political on you but I haven't had a classroom full of students to debate and argue with for some time. I needed to get that out. Anywho hope all who endured to have a wonderful day.

For those of you who could not be here.

I received a Bachelor's of Science in Social Science, did it in under four years, and finished with a 3.82 GPA on a 4.0 scale. In addition, I graduated with Alpha Chi Honors, Psi Chi Honors, and Cum Laude Honors. I did not receive any individual awards from the School of Liberal Arts, but was presented with a service award for the amount of community service I had accomplished in the last four years. Any gifts may be sent to. . . . . . just kidding.

Here a few pics of myself and a few of my classmates:

Sorry the bike pics will have to wait. I did get the bags put on, but went through a couple down pours; therefore, the bike is not in a ratable standing for pictures.

Some people are so gullable....

Yesterday I was tooling around the countryside on the bike and came upon a county deputy who had pulled over a small pickup with a trailer loaded down with brush. I slowed down to about 25 as I passed them and didn't think much of me doing anything wrong. Well, no sooner did I a hundred yards past them the deputy was on my ass. So I pulled it over and shut the bike down. The deputy stepped out of his cruiser and walked up to me and asked for my liscense and insurance. I obliged and asked why he had pulled me over. His reply, was that I had ran through a stop sign and my pipes were too loud. I asked which stop sign since there was none in the few hundred yards since passing him, and he said he thought I rolled through one over a half mile the other way. I complimented him on his amazing eyesight and explained further that I had been on this particular stretch of road for several miles and hadn't seen a stop sign since turning on to it. The deputy told me to sit tight while he ran my liscense so I pulled out a smoke an lit up, which really set this giuy off for some reason. He stompled back toward me all red faced and completely irritated telling to put out my smoke, but then stopped, turned about face and walked to his car. Several minutes later he returned handing me my liscense and insurance card. He then walked to the opposite side of my bike and stared at my pipes for a minute before telling me again that my bike was too loud. I told him I met state requirements for noise and pollution, and asked what the problem was. Believe it or not he then asked if he could take it for a spin, I was dumbfounded but responded quickly by saying I would only if he let me follow in close pursuit in his patrol car with sirens blaring. I really did ask him that, but during this exchange I started hearing people laughing and turned to see the little pickup and trailer the officer had pulled over previously sitting behind the deputy's car. Next to the pickup was one of my fraternity brothers (who I ride with quite often) and his wife just laughing there asses off. I was still in the dark about the cop, but they quickly revealed that the deputy was my bro's cousin who had just made the force. I thought this guy was acting a little funny but had no idea I was being set up. Come to find out later, the deputy himself has several pretty sweet bikes.

Since I am on the topic of my bike, I am getting ready for the summer riding. Tomorrow I am equiping the ride with a new set of bags. Will show pics soon. Well I have taken up enough of your time and it is a beautiful day again, so I will strap on the leathers and report back later with any @#$%ed occurrences.

Later,

KC a great place to party...and eat BBQ

Wow, what a weekend. I just spent the last four days in Kansas City with around 1200 other psych major students. Now that might sound pretty drab and boring, and if there was a presentation to be heard or discussed it was, but as soon as a day's events ended that all changed. These people know how to party. Until this weekend, I would have said that frat boys were the only ones to throw a party worth remembering, but I was wrong. It seemed like the geek you sat next to during a presentation to during the day turned into the pole swinging diva after a shot of tequilla and a Long Island ice tea. Now before you swing into some wild assumption, this particular person was also being egged on by her boyfriend, but I think you get the picture. Plus, it seemed like they were bottomless pits. There was no end to the concumption, even after we were being excorted out at closing time. Most of these people partied well after four each night nad were up by eight to present. I am damn glad both of my oral presentation were on our first day, and all I had to do for our poster presentation was stand their next to it and hand out pamplets. But now I am home and back to business as usual.

I now only have a few tweeks to make to my final paper and prepare yet another presentation along with a powerpoint. Fortunately, this one only has to cover fifteen minutes and there will only be thirty or so audience members. The SWPA presentations had to cover around an hour a piece. My final paper is a literature review of peer-mentoring that covers a historical timeline, uses in the business world, and uses in elementary and secondary education, but its primary focus is peer-mentoring in th higher education setting. I had to read over 240 articles to find the fifty-three that I actually used and the paper topped out at thiry-six pages inculding references. Not the longest paper I have written while in college but by far the best and most rewarding. Well it getting late and I need some sleep before the week officially starts.

My happy new year post

I guess I have procrastinated this thing again. Sorry if anyone kept stopping by and nothing new. It will get better in about six weeks when I can take a somewhat extended break from school. I cannot wait for graduation. Gonna drink myself silly for the first couple days, then sleep for a few more, and finally I am going to load up the saddle-bags on the bike and split. I will spin a bottle for which direction, flip a coin for hotel or camping, and hope like hell the potholes aren't too big. Unfortunately, I cannot ride forever so this trip may only be a week long or so. I do have several applications for employment handed out to few of the different universities in the area as well as some of the larger high schools. Hopefully, I can land a job soon so I can get my wife off this damn farm. The owners of the place have said they are not going to fix anything in our house, so technically we are both in the market for new employment. I do however have guaranteed work at my university for the fall semester as an adjunct professor teaching two developmental writng courses and an essay writing class. Compared to a full-time professor the pay is shit, but it triples what I have made the past year. Well this is about all I can muster for now. My schedule has been completely engulfed in finishing my senior research and getting ready for the presentations I have to make in Kansas City this next week. I guess I better explain. Several classmates and myself have been selected to present three of our recent studies at the Southwestern Psychological Association's (SWPA) National convention. It is sort of a big deal but more so for my classmates becasue they are staying in the field of psychology whereas I will continue my studies in higher education. I am going now, again sorry for the lack of posting, hope to hear from ya.
